Terms of use

Baby Twinkle is not a doctor and is not a medical device. It gives general information to help you keep track of things and ask better questions at your next visit. It cannot diagnose, cannot tell you whether something is an emergency, and must never be the reason you delay seeing someone. If you are worried about yourself or your baby, contact a doctor or go to a hospital.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using the Baby Twinkle app or this website you agree to what is on this page. If you do not, please do not use them.

2. What the app is for

It is a personal record and information tool for adults — for tracking a cycle, a pregnancy, or a child's early years, and for reading general information about those things. It is intended for use in India and its content, particularly the immunisation schedule and the government scheme information, is written for that context.

3. Medical information, and its limits

Everything in the app is general information, not advice about you specifically.
The immunisation schedule is transcribed from the Government of India's Universal Immunization Programme and the IMA/IAP schedule, with each dose citing its source. At the time of writing it has been checked against those sources but not signed off by a paediatrician, and the app says so on screen. Your doctor's schedule takes precedence over ours.
Growth percentiles, gestational ages and cycle predictions are calculated from the dates you enter. Wrong dates give wrong answers, and a prediction is not a diagnosis.
Readings you record are banded against published thresholds to help you decide what to raise with your doctor. That banding is not a clinical assessment of you.

4. Your records are your responsibility

Your health records are stored on your phone and nowhere else. We cannot recover them if the phone is lost, reset, damaged or the app uninstalled. Please export the PDF and keep a copy somewhere safe.

5. Your account

An account is optional. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address you sign in with, since that address is the only way in. Do not use the app to impersonate somebody else, and do not share an account with a person whose health records are not yours.

6. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play, and Google's terms apply to the payment itself.
They renew automatically until cancelled. You cancel through your Google Play account, not through us, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the current period.
Refunds follow Google Play's policy. We will support a refund request you make to Google where it is reasonable.
Some things are free for ever and cannot be moved behind a subscription: the vaccination tracker, the kick counter, your home dashboards, and any warning telling you to contact a doctor. This is enforced in our database, not just promised here.
Prices may change. An existing subscription keeps its price for its current term, and you will be told before a change affects you.

7. Acceptable use

Please do not:

Try to break into, overload or probe the service
Use automated means to create accounts or send support messages
Send abusive, threatening or unlawful content through support
Resell or redistribute the app's content as your own

We may suspend an account that does these things.

8. PCPNDT

Nothing in this product determines, records or discloses the sex of an unborn child. Attempting to use it for that purpose is a criminal offence under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994, and no such feature will be built.

9. Availability

The app is designed to keep working without a connection, and most of it does. The parts that need our server — signing in, subscriptions, new articles, the hospital directory and support — will not work when it is down or when you are offline. We do not promise any particular uptime.

10. Liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it, from information in it, or from records lost with a device. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — and nothing here is intended to limit your rights against us for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app. We may end your access if you break these terms. If we stop running the service, we will give notice in the app so you can export your records first.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.
